My Second Post

I've been contemplating this whole blogging thing a lot lately.  I am worried that my skin isn't thick enough for some of the nasty comments I have seen posted on others blogs.  I am guessing I will have to get over this.
We had a nice weekend.  My daughter, J age 9, was invited to a sleepover on friday night.  I have to be honest, I wish I never started allowing sleepovers.  I told her that we were going to pick her up at 7am on Saturday morning to head out to M's, my 11 year old son, cross country meet.  Sure enough she had been up until 4am and was very crabby.  We spent the 45 minute drive with her going in and out of sleep and yelling at P, her 4 year old brother, because she was irritated with the sound that his DS was making.  On the positive side I have told her the there will not be any more sleep overs for a long time.   The cross country meet was great.  As M's race started I was praying that he wouldn't be last and that he wouldn't be walking.  Sure enough in the middle of the runners was my son running along.  I was ridiculously proud of him.  He is my least athletic child and I am so excited at how hard he has been working on the cross country team.  When we returned home I took a long nap.  I had been to Bunco on friday night and after having a couple of drinks that evening and getting up at 6am in the morning I was wiped out.
On Sunday I took M to church and P to Sunday School.  Hubby and J stayed home because she had an 11:30 soccer game.  After church we met up with them at the game.  J scored the last winning goal of the game.  I was so proud of her.  M and P had an altercation at the soccer game that led to P being grounded from video games for the rest of the week.  With no provocation P punched M in the stomach at the soccer game.  Ridiculous.  He was very sorry and M graciously hugged him and accepted his apology.  For me his punishment is a blessing in disguise because I have been trying to seriously limit his video game time and now he doesn't even ask to play because he knows he is being punished.  If I could go back in time I often think I shouldn't have allowed video games in my house in the first place.  They can turn into a time suck and can cause so much unneeded frustration.
I was able to get lots of housework done today while P was at pre-school.  After I picked him up we went to my parents house for the afternoon.  My mom gave me four monarch butterfly cocoons that are going to come out in the next few days.  My parents are going on a trip and she wanted to be sure that they can be released.  We have been raising caterpillars and butterflies all summer.  This generation will be traveling to Mexico for the winter.
M had another cross country meet after school today.  He did a great job but forgot his water.  By the time he finished I was seriously worried that he was going to hit the deck.  He thankfully didn't and was fine once he sat down with some water and had a nice shower.
Thats it for me....until next time.
